Sample Logger – Laboratory Information System

About the role

Microchem Specialized Lab Services is looking for a Sample Logger to accurately record incoming laboratory samples in its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and ensure all required documentation is attached for traceability. The role serves as a key liaison between clients and the laboratory teams, maintaining clear communication and supporting efficient sample processing.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that each sample is accompanied by the correct documentation.
• Contact clients to obtain any missing paperwork.
• Enter sample data into the LIMS and assign samples to the appropriate laboratory.
• File receipt documents for record‑keeping and audit purposes.
• Answer phone calls, direct inquiries to relevant staff, and take messages as needed.
• Greet visitors and manage access to restricted areas.
• Review incoming memos and reports to assess significance and distribute accordingly.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Data Capturing or a related administrative field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• LIMS data entry and management.
