Sales & Specification Manager – Johannesburg

About the role

Our client, a leading supplier of premium building products and architectural solutions, is looking for a Sales & Specification Manager to head the commercial team in Johannesburg. The role combines hands‑on field work with strategic leadership, ensuring projects are identified early, specifications are secured and sales pipelines are converted into revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Sales and Specification teams.
• Drive revenue growth through strategic business development initiatives.
• Expand and manage the project sales pipeline across multiple market sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, contractors and consultants.
• Increase product specifications during the design phase and ensure smooth transition to sales.
• Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and key accounts.
• Monitor pipeline activity, quotations, tenders and sales conversions.
• Collaborate with Marketing on product launches, presentations and technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate project and client data in the CRM system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales, specification or commercial management within the building products or architectural sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong network with architects, designers, contractors and related professionals.
• Track record of growing market share and converting specifications into sales.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
