Sales Representative – Foodservice (Cape Town)

About the role

Our client in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to manage an established customer base and generate new business within the foodservice sector. The role involves regular visits to clients across the Western, Eastern Cape and Garden Route, with occasional overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with existing customers.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking.
• Manage a designated sales territory to achieve revenue and growth targets.
• Conduct customer visits to understand needs and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Prepare and implement sales plans, promotional activities and regional growth initiatives.
• Negotiate with key decision‑makers and build strong commercial partnerships.
• Handle customer enquiries, resolve issues promptly and ensure high satisfaction.
• Prepare monthly sales forecasts and maintain accurate sales reports.
• Process customer orders and complete related administrative tasks efficiently.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) is essential; a qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business or related field is advantageous.
• Previous external sales experience in foodservice, hospitality, catering or FMCG.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Willingness to travel and be away from home several days each month.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time‑management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance.
