Sales Representative – Direct Mini Market (Tier 3) – Gauteng

About the role

Diplomat Distributors South Africa is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to cover the Direct Mini Market segment in Gauteng, focusing on the Johannesburg CBD area. Reporting to the Area Sales Supervisor, you will drive sales of pre‑determined solutions to larger retail outlets and mini‑markets.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the sales plan for allocated customers, achieving monthly sales, display and objective targets.
• Negotiate shelf and display space with customers and ensure correct merchandising standards (block, cross, format, vertical).
• Maintain accurate pricing, stock rotation (FIFO) and planogram compliance.
• Increase product visibility through gondola ends, side stacks, power wings, display units and dump bins.
• Manage stock levels, orders, damages, returns and conduct regular stock counts.
• Provide market intelligence and support ad‑hoc promotional events.
• Participate in weekly and monthly team meetings to track progress.

Required profile

• Matric (or equivalent) plus a Diploma or Degree in Business, Commerce or Marketing.
• 3‑5 years experience as a Sales Representative in FMCG sales and merchandising.
• Proven experience dealing with independent retail and wholesale accounts.
• Strong negotiation skills, business acumen and ability to work under pressure.
• Valid driver’s licence; own vehicle preferred.
