Sales Representative – Baking Business Unit

About the role

RCL Foods is seeking a driven, energetic Sales Representative for its baking business unit in Durban. The role focuses on serving customers, optimizing delivery routes, and ensuring driver efficiency while supporting sales growth.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure efficient, cost‑effective product distribution and optimal truck utilisation.
• Monitor and optimise driver routes using GPS, balancing orders, deliveries and returns.
• Submit daily sales figures and driver orders, and track informal trade customer returns.
• Provide trade intelligence, price surveys and actionable plans to counter competitor activity.
• Load and maintain accurate customer details and classifications in the system.
• Lead, train and discipline driver and van‑assistant teams to meet sales targets.
• Build long‑term relationships with customers, handle complaints and ensure merchandising standards.
• Collaborate with the Informal Sales Representative on route optimisation and new business acquisition.

Required profile

• Matric (high school) qualification.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence, PDP and own car.
• 3–5 years of sales experience, preferably in driver‑sales or similar roles.
