Sales Manager – Gauteng, South Africa

About the role

The Sales Manager will lead the implementation of PPG's Refinish commercial proposition across Gauteng. Working closely with the South African sales team and the Automotive Refinish Director, you will drive growth, manage key accounts and ensure the successful launch of new products.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the LIC portfolio in the region, nurturing distributor and key‑customer relationships.
• Collaborate with Technical Account Managers to increase share‑of‑wallet in existing accounts.
• Visit end‑users to understand product needs and align them with PPG’s portfolio.
• Introduce new products into customers’ paint processes and support new‑business hunting.
• Drive the sales pipeline, convert new wins and support Business Development Managers.
• Leverage Digital Colour tools to provide digital services to distributors and end‑users.
• Manage product claims through PPG’s CAIR system, ensuring quick resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with PPG’s code of ethics, export and anti‑corruption policies.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in automotive refinish commercial roles.
• Deep knowledge of LIC products and end‑user dynamics.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• People‑management skills and the ability to engage customers at all levels.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout South Africa.
• Self‑reliant, self‑motivated and capable of achieving objectives independently.
