About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG organisation, is seeking a Sales & Distribution Manager to lead sales growth and optimise distribution across a defined territory in South Africa. The role combines commercial strategy with supply‑chain execution, ensuring products are available where customers need them while driving profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share and volume.
• Lead, motivate and coach sales and distribution teams to meet targets.
• Identify new markets and sales channels and build strong relationships with key retail partners.
• Monitor sales performance, analyse customer trends and competitor activity, and take corrective actions.
• Maintain merchandising standards across customer locations.
• Oversee distribution operations, optimise fleet utilisation and manage returns, basket control and point‑of‑sale materials.
• Drive continuous improvement in sales and distribution processes.
• Manage departmental budgets and ensure cost‑effective operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in FMCG sales and distribution leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving growth targets.
• Ability to lead large, diverse teams and develop talent.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and relationship‑building skills.
