SAIPA Clerk – Immediate Start

About the role

We are looking for a motivated SAIPA Clerk to join our accounting team in Pretoria. This full‑time position offers immediate start and provides hands‑on experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping and tax compliance while you work towards becoming a Professional Accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing client financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Process monthly accounting entries, reconcile bank accounts and maintain general ledgers.
• Conduct basic financial analysis and highlight trends or discrepancies for senior review.
• Support the preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE and income‑tax returns.
• Help produce management accounts and periodic performance reports.
• Engage with clients to answer queries and explain financial information under supervision.
• Collaborate closely with senior accountants to ensure timely delivery of client deliverables.

Required profile

• Aspiration to qualify as a Professional Accountant (SAIPA).
• Accounting or finance degree (in progress or recently completed).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS for SMEs and relevant tax legislation.
• Own reliable vehicle for occasional client visits.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pastel accounting software.
• Experience using Xero.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
