SAICA Traineeship – Audit and Accounting

About the role

The SAICA traineeship is a structured programme that gives practical experience needed to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)). Trainees work closely with experienced professionals on auditing, tax, accounting and business advisory, learning from a team invested in their success.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with audits and the preparation of financial statements
• Help with tax calculations and returns
• Carry out reconciliations and basic financial analysis
• Support client accounting and administrative tasks
• Learn how to apply ethical and professional standards in real situations

Required profile

• Successfully registered to study towards an accredited degree by SAICA, or better
• No experience required, though experience is beneficial
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Effective communication, integrity, professionalism and self-motivation

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Trainees report to the audit manager, who reports to the Managing Director; there are occasions of direct reporting to the Managing Director. The position is based in Durbanville.
