Road IT Technician – On‑site Support

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Road IT Technician to provide both remote and on‑site technical support across client locations in Gauteng. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues while travelling to sites and working independently.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver remote and on‑site support for desktops, laptops, servers, printers and mobile devices.
• Respond quickly to incidents, escalating when necessary.
• Install, configure and maintain hardware, software applications, updates, patches and licensing.
• Perform network tasks such as cabling, VLAN setup, switch configuration and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Manage Acronis backups and uphold data‑protection practices.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of systems, processes and client configurations.
• Provide user training on IT tools and support technology upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security best practices.

Required profile

• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and travel to client sites.
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Experience with PSA and AEM ticketing systems.
• Proficiency in SharePoint, Acronis Backup, firewalls and server administration.
• Solid networking knowledge (cabling, VLANs, switch configuration).
• Strong command of Windows OS, Office 365 and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
• Familiarity with Autotask, IT Glue, Unifi and related documentation tools.
