Risk Manager (HSE)

About the role

Premier FMCG is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) initiatives across its operations. You will ensure legal compliance, drive business continuity, and foster a zero‑injury culture for staff and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with all relevant HSE Acts and legislation.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve standards, procedures and SOPs.
• Deliver ongoing training, coaching and assessments for employees and contractors.
• Implement and manage ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Oversee insurance, audit findings, emergency plans and business continuity measures.
• Promote a strong safety culture through onboarding, medical monitoring, toolbox talks and recognition programs.
• Identify hazards, conduct incident investigations and implement control measures to reduce loss, theft and injuries.
• Manage outsourced service providers and coordinate internal and external HSE audits.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in HSE (essential).
• SAMTRAC/NEBOSH IGC certification (essential).
• HIRA Training Certificate (essential).
• 5–10 years experience as a Risk Manager/HSE in the FMCG sector (essential).
• 5+ years experience managing outsourced services (desirable).
• Willingness to work a 6‑day week, weekends, public holidays and be on 24/7 standby.

Required skills

• ISO 45001 management system implementation.

• Comprehensive knowledge of HSE legislation and Acts.
• HSE data analysis and trend identification.
• Incident investigation techniques and procedures.
• Risk assessment (HIRA) methodology.
