Resources and Reserves Engineer

About the role

Glencore is seeking a Resources and Reserves Engineer to manage mineral resource and ore reserve data for its open‑cast mining operations. The role supports mine planning, strategic resource input, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update mineral resource and ore reserve models.
• Provide accurate geological inputs to support open‑cast mine planning.
• Deliver strategic resource and reserve data for life‑of‑mine planning.
• Align geology, mine planning, and production teams to optimise extraction.
• Monitor resource models against actual mining performance.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Honours degree in Geology.
• Registered scientist with SACNASP.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in open‑cast mining operations.
• Strong communication, analytical, reporting, and leadership abilities.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
• Medically fit for mine work.
• Computer literacy.
