Research Nurse

About the role

The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF) is seeking a Research Nurse on a fixed‑term contract that runs until 30 April 2027. The position is based in the Aerobiology TB Unit serving the Masiphumelele/Fishoek area and focuses on the successful implementation of study protocols within the organisation’s HIV and TB research programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Implement study protocols in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Study Coordinator and the wider research team.
• Maintain accurate study documentation and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
• Support data collection, sample handling and patient interaction as required by the study design.
• Liaise with internal and external collaborators to facilitate smooth study operations.
• Assist in the preparation of study reports and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered nurse with experience in clinical or research settings.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
