Renal Registered Nurse & Clinical Technologist

About the role

The Renal Registered Nurse/Clinical Technologist will join Life Renal Dialysis in the Winelands region, reporting to the Renal Unit Manager. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, holistic nursing care to renal patients while supporting the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic and specialised nursing care to renal patients, ensuring optimal outcomes.
• Communicate continuously with patients and families about condition and treatment plans.
• Administer medication in line with ethical and legal standards.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, protocols and quality management systems.
• Advocate for patients, coordinate case management and alert doctors to any concerns.
• Manage stock, staff hours and leave according to company policies.
• Implement infection‑control and SHEQ measures to ensure a safe environment.
• Conduct equipment checks daily, report faults and train staff on specialised renal equipment.
• Accurately record patient information and ensure proper documentation storage.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Nursing.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Clinical Technology (Renal).
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Technologist.

Required skills

• Renal dialysis equipment operation.
