Renal Registered Nurse / Clinical Technologist (2 positions)

About the role

Two vacancies exist for a Renal Registered Nurse/Clinical Technologist at Life Renal Dialysis, Midstream, reporting to the Renal Unit Manager. The role focuses on delivering holistic, high‑quality nursing care to renal patients to achieve optimal outcomes in line with organisational and hospital objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic and specialised nursing care to renal patients, including medication administration within ethical and legal frameworks.
• Communicate continuously with patients and families about condition and treatment progress.
• Manage stock, staff hours and leave in accordance with unit policies and company guidelines.
• Maintain infection control standards and complete SHEQ alerts and incident reports.
• Ensure equipment and instrumentation are functional daily and report any faults.
• Educate and supervise staff and doctors on proper use of specialised dialysis equipment.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Nursing or Clinical Technology.
• Current registration with SANC (nurses) or HPCSA (clinical technologists).
• Experience working in a renal unit, administering acute and chronic dialysis treatments.
• Willingness to work flexi‑hours and participate in acute dialysis call system.
• Own vehicle with a valid licence and ability to travel for acute dialysis services.

Required skills

• Operation of dialysis machines (various makes and models).
• Administration of acute and chronic dialysis treatments.
• Equipment and instrumentation checks and basic troubleshooting.
