Relief Site Supervisor

About the role

The Relief Site Supervisor will oversee bio‑security, animal welfare and daily operations at a poultry farm in KwaZulu‑Natal. The role requires hands‑on management of staff, feed, water and vaccination programmes while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor bio‑security and animal welfare protocols.
• Plan, supervise and report on all staff activities reporting to this position.
• Manage daily housekeeping, feed and water systems to ensure optimal flock conditions.
• Coordinate vaccination schedules and hygiene sampling programmes.
• Drive continuous improvement of flock production and maintain product quality.
• Enforce OHSA, 20‑keys standards and PPE stock control.
• Conduct daily planning meetings and oversee site asset and consumable inventory.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Fluent in English and Zulu (reading, writing and speaking).
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
• Strong administrative and document‑control abilities.
• At least three years of poultry‑related experience (advantageous).
• Self‑motivated, performance‑driven and able to work independently.
• Willingness to reside on‑site and respond to after‑hour emergencies.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends.
