Regulatory & Safety Director – Africa

About the role

Reckitt is seeking a Regulatory & Safety Director for the Africa region to lead regulatory strategy and ensure compliance of a broad portfolio of health, hygiene and nutrition products. The role partners with R&D and commercial teams to drive product registration, maintain market approvals and influence regulatory developments across multiple categories.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage local regulatory teams across Africa, supporting all product categories.
• Serve as the senior regulatory and safety partner for regional management, building collaborative relationships with business and functional stakeholders.
• Provide strategic input to regional and global regulatory strategies and align them with commercial objectives.
• Lead product registration activities, including submission planning, master‑dossier adaptation, and liaison with local regulatory agencies.
• Oversee registration and maintenance of medical devices, cosmetics, personal care, herbal, healthcare, commodity products and food supplements.
• Monitor regulatory trends, interpret their impact on Reckitt’s product portfolio and share intelligence with relevant functions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key regulatory authorities in the region.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in regulatory affairs within the consumer health, hygiene or related sectors.
• Proven leadership of multi‑disciplinary regulatory teams across several countries.
• Strong understanding of global and local regulatory frameworks for medical devices, cosmetics, food supplements and related products.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
