Registered Nurse - Ward

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide safe, efficient and compassionate care to patients undergoing ophthalmic surgical procedures in a fast‑paced day‑hospital ward. The role includes pre‑ and post‑operative patient management, coordination of care and strict adherence to clinical and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality clinical care to surgical and ophthalmic patients.
• Manage pre‑operative assessments and post‑operative monitoring.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans and ensure accurate documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and education programmes.
• Support financial and business processes related to ward operations.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing Science.
• Registered Nurse with a valid SANC registration.
• Experience in a surgical or ophthalmic ward, preferably in a day‑hospital setting.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle anxious or elderly patients with empathy.
