Registered Nurse – Theatre Scrub Experienced

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in theatre scrubbing to join a fast‑paced peri‑operative team. The role involves delivering safe, high‑quality nursing care throughout the surgical process in a dynamic operating theatre environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialised peri‑operative nursing care from pre‑operative preparation to post‑operative recovery.
• Scrub and assist surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating theatres, instruments and equipment, ensuring strict sterile technique.
• Monitor patients throughout the surgical journey and promote positive clinical outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and the multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient care.

Required profile

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing; a Postgraduate Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing is advantageous.
• Minimum 3–5 years of theatre scrubbing experience; recovery experience also considered.
• Strong knowledge of peri‑operative nursing principles and infection prevention practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
