Registered Nurse – Theatre Recovery (Experienced)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe, cost‑effective patient care within a hospital setting, focusing on theatre recovery. You will be responsible for direct and indirect nursing care, ensuring compliance with hospital standards and health legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient care in line with the Scope of Practice and assume full responsibility for assigned activities.
• Scrub for ophthalmic surgical procedures and support the surgical team.
• Contribute to holistic patient care and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
• Audit health records to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage stock levels, ensuring proper charging and crediting of supplies.
• Maintain positive public relations with patients, relatives, and visitors.
• Flexibly rotate to other wards as occupancy demands.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or equivalent (NQF 7 qualification).
• Minimum three years of experience in theatre recovery, preferably in private healthcare.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
• Capacity to implement and maintain standards required by accredited bodies and health legislation.
