Registered Nurse – Residential Care Facility

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Professional Nurse to join our well‑established residential care facility for older persons in Vredehoek, Cape Town. The role is central to delivering high‑quality nursing care, collaborating closely with doctors, unit managers and care staff to ensure a compassionate, coordinated environment for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day clinical oversight, assessment, treatment, monitoring and follow‑up care for residents.
• Run the resident clinic, prioritise in‑room visits and perform nursing procedures within the home’s scope.
• Coordinate healthcare needs with doctors, hospitals, families and other stakeholders.
• Guide care staff on clinical interventions, ensure accurate record‑keeping and maintain electronic health records.
• Manage medical stock, equipment checks and clinic organisation.
• Support medication management and provide cover when required.
• Uphold infection prevention, regulatory compliance and emergency procedures.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and DENOSA.
• Experience in geriatric nursing or related healthcare settings.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Motivated, patient, conscientious and proactive attitude.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
