Registered Nurse – Paediatric Unit

About the role

The Life Eugene Marais Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Paediatric Unit. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will deliver high‑quality patient care and support a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced, private‑healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and supervise nursing care in line with legislation and ethical codes.
• Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive nursing care plans.
• Coordinate nursing activities of the healthcare team delivering basic care.
• Enhance patient satisfaction through quality‑improvement initiatives and complaint management.
• Maintain a safe, emotionally and physically secure environment using SHEQ and infection‑control protocols.
• Contribute to business efficiency by managing resources, stock, case management and billing.
• Coach, mentor and support performance management of unit staff.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or equivalent.
• General Nursing Degree or Diploma with registration on the SANC register.
• 2–3 years of experience in a paediatric ward.
• Relevant specialty diploma (if applicable) and strong understanding of private‑healthcare dynamics.

Required skills

• Computer literacy for documentation and hospital information systems.
