Registered Nurse – Neonatal ICU (5 positions)

About the role

Life Peglerae Hospital is seeking five qualified Registered Nurses for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Reporting to Unit Manager Hayley Bothma, you will deliver holistic patient care and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the hospital’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain professional and ethical nursing practice in the unit.
• Provide and supervise nursing care in line with relevant legislation and ethical codes.
• Develop and manage comprehensive nursing care plans using the scientific nursing process.
• Coordinate and supervise basic care activities performed by the healthcare team.
• Enhance patient satisfaction through quality‑improvement initiatives such as CFS.
• Assist in handling patient and multidisciplinary team complaints.
• Promote a safe emotional and physical environment using SHEQ and infection‑control measures.
• Contribute to business efficiency through cost‑effective care, stock management, case management and billing.
• Coach, mentor and support performance management of unit staff.

Required profile

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Post‑basic qualification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
