About the role
A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse Midwife in the Maternity Unit at Life The Crompton Hospital. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the successful candidate will ensure the effective delivery of quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide and supervise nursing care in line with legislation and ethical codes.
- Develop and manage comprehensive nursing care plans using the scientific nursing process.
- Enhance patient satisfaction through quality‑improvement initiatives and complaint management.
- Maintain a safe, emotionally and physically secure environment, including infection control and SHEQ compliance.
- Contribute to business efficiency by managing resources, stock, case management and billing.
- Coach, mentor and assist in performance management and development of unit staff.
Required profile
- General Nursing Degree or Diploma.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Diploma in Maternity or related speciality.
- Relevant experience in a maternity setting.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry is an advantage.
- Computer proficiency is an advantage.
