Registered Nurse – High Care Unit

About the role

The High Care Unit at Life Hilton Private Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver holistic, high‑quality care to critically ill patients. Reporting to the ICU & HC Unit Manager, the role focuses on patient safety, optimal outcomes, and alignment with hospital strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic and specialised nursing care to high‑acuity patients.
• Communicate continuously with patients and families regarding condition and care plans.
• Administer medication in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Maintain infection control and SHEQ standards, completing alerts and incident reports.
• Manage stock, staff hours, and leave according to unit policies.
• Ensure equipment and instrumentation are functional and report any faults.
• Support multidisciplinary team members and execute doctors' requests and prescriptions.
• Educate and supervise staff on proper use of specialised equipment.

Required profile

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Experience in a High Care or ICU environment; midwifery experience is an advantage.
• Strong customer orientation, energetic, well‑organised team player.
