About the role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse specialised in Gastro‑Intestinal (GIT) care to join the multidisciplinary team at Netcare N1City Hospital in Cape Town. The role involves delivering holistic, patient‑centred nursing services in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan and implement individualized nursing care for patients with GIT conditions.
- Coordinate care with physicians, allied health professionals and support staff.
- Document patient observations, interventions and outcomes accurately.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse qualification recognised in South Africa.
- Experience in acute or surgical nursing, preferably with exposure to GIT patients.
- Strong understanding of holistic nursing principles, including physical, social and spiritual aspects of care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
