Registered Nurse / Clinical Technologist – Dialysis Practitioner

About the role

National Renal Care is seeking a qualified Dialysis Practitioner who will deliver safe, evidence‑based, person‑centred dialysis care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to place patients' goals and preferences at the centre of clinical decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide haemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis treatments in accordance with best practice.
• Operate dialysis equipment and water‑treatment systems safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals.
• Promote shared decision‑making and support patient self‑management.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, patient safety and overall experience.

Required profile

• Degree in Nursing or BTech in Clinical Technology.
• Registered with SANC as a Nurse/Midwife or with HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist (independent practice).
• 1–2 years experience in a haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis unit.
• Experience managing chronic kidney disease patients and providing education/counselling.
• Knowledge of quality improvement, risk management and relevant healthcare legislation (National Health Act, POPIA, OHS, SANC/HPCSA ethical rules).
