Registered General Nurse – Ward 4 (Medical)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered General Nurse to join Ward 4 – Medical at Life Bay View Private Hospital in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will deliver holistic patient care while supporting the hospital’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff and stock costs by evaluating labor hours and controlling inventory.
• Minimise waste and ensure proper maintenance of medical equipment.
• Conduct daily care rounds, address patient and family inquiries, and investigate complaints.
• Implement SHEQ and infection‑control measures, monitor risks and comply with ISO standards.
• Facilitate effective communication with doctors, patients, families and external partners.
• Organise department‑specific micro‑orientations and ensure staff readiness.

Required profile

• Relevant nursing degree or diploma.
• Experience working in medical wards.
• Current registration with the appropriate professional body.
• Understanding of the private‑healthcare environment (advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency.
