Registered General Nurse – Primary Health Care

About the role

The Registered General Nurse will deliver high-quality primary health care services at our clinic in Somerset West, working closely with the occupational health team to ensure safe, professional, and efficient patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, triage, and basic clinical examinations
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
• Provide health education, counselling, and appropriate referrals
• Assist with chronic disease monitoring and management
• Ensure clinic cleanliness, safety, and infection control compliance
• Manage clinic stock, consumables, and equipment
• Support occupational health screening processes
• Liaise with the occupational doctor and health team on complex cases
• Uphold relevant health legislation and SANC standards

Required profile

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse
• Diploma or degree in General Nursing
• Minimum 2 years post‑registration clinical experience, preferably in primary health care
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
• Dispensing certificate, BLS/first aid certification, and driver’s licence are advantageous
