About the role
A vacancy exists for a Registered General Nurse in the Emergency Unit at Life St George's Hospital, Johannesburg. The role involves delivering holistic patient care and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage staff and stock costs by evaluating labour hours and handling debit/credit hours.
- Minimise stock wastage and ensure equipment maintenance.
- Conduct daily care rounds, investigate complaints and provide accurate information to patients and families.
- Implement risk management measures, including SHEQ, infection control and ISO compliance.
- Facilitate department-specific micro‑orientation for staff and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Required profile
- Relevant Nursing Diploma (R171 qualification) and current registration with the SANC.
- Experience in an Emergency unit preferred.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry is advantageous.
- Computer proficiency and reliable transport for shift work.
