Regional Sales Manager – Inland Region (Gauteng to Limpopo)

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing FMCG distributor in the nicotine and vaping space, looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead revenue growth across the Inland region of South Africa. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will own sales performance across retail, forecourt, wholesale and independent‑trade channels while managing key accounts and a dispersed field team.

Key responsibilities

• Own regional sales targets and revenue performance across Gauteng, North West, Free State, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
• Develop and execute territory plans, identify growth opportunities and close new retail, wholesale, forecourt and independent accounts.
• Negotiate ranging, promotions and trading terms with major buyers such as SPAR, Pick n Pay and Shoprite.
• Lead, coach and develop the regional field sales team, set targets and conduct performance reviews.
• Produce weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts and collaborate with finance, marketing and operations on credit risk, promotional calendars and stock fulfilment.

Required profile

• Minimum BCom in Marketing, Sales or Business Management (or equivalent).
• At least five years of regional sales management or senior key‑account experience in FMCG.
• Proven sales‑growth record with measurable results and experience managing major retailers and forecourt groups.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a geographically dispersed team under pressure.
• Valid driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Experience using ERP platforms for pipeline and account management.
• Strong sales data analysis and forecasting capabilities.
• Commercial understanding of margins, pricing and trading terms.
