Regional Facilities Manager (Education Sector)

About the role

The Regional Facilities Manager will oversee the condition, safety and functionality of SPARK Schools’ sites across the region. Reporting to the Property Operations Manager, you will ensure that school buildings and surrounding environments support effective teaching and learning while complying with health, safety and SANS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct bi‑weekly inspections of each school to identify renovation or repair needs.
• Coordinate and contract maintenance services, including electrical, landscaping and vehicle upkeep, in a cost‑effective manner.
• Ensure all workspaces meet Occupational Health & Safety Act requirements and SANS standards for employee comfort.
• Manage reactive, proactive and preventative maintenance programmes for buildings and equipment.
• Liaise with school leadership teams to align facilities work with academic schedules.
• Lead, develop and supervise a team of facilities staff, promoting the SPARK culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or building maintenance, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple sites and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Leadership skills to grow and motivate a facilities team.
