Quantity Surveyor – Construction Projects

About the role

Cresco Consulting is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management, tendering and financial control for construction projects. You will own the full cost lifecycle, from tender preparation through to final account, ensuring projects stay within budget and deliver profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit competitive tenders, evaluate subcontractor pricing and ensure accurate project specifications.
• Monitor project costs, produce monthly cost reports, forecasts and manage cash flow through interim claims.
• Appoint and manage subcontractors, ensure all JBCC contracts are compliant and communicate terms to project teams.
• Handle contract variations, track site instructions and compile final accounts for project close‑out.
• Conduct regular site visits, approve subcontractor payments and monitor guarantees, milestones and timelines.

Required profile

• BTech/BSc in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong knowledge of building contracts such as JBCC, NEC, FIDIC and GCC.
• Own transport and ability to work on‑site in Cape Town.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with MS Office (MS Projects advantageous).
• Experience using Candy and BuildSmart software.
