Quantity Surveyor – Cape Town (Construction)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well‑established building and engineering contractor in the Western Cape. You will play a key role in managing costs, budgets, and commercial aspects of commercial building projects.

Key responsibilities

• Measure and prepare accurate cost estimates, valuations, and project pricing.
• Update project forecasts, budgets, and cash‑flow projections.
• Monitor and control site expenditure to keep projects within budget.
• Review and approve material orders according to project specifications.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify work completed, and identify cost implications.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project teams on commercial and operational matters.
• Assist with cost reporting, variations, and final accounts.

Required profile

• National Diploma or related qualification.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in commercial building projects.
• Strong commercial and cost‑control background.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with site and management teams.
• Fluent Afrikaans.
• Experience in tender preparation and submission is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CCS (Dim X beneficial).
