Quality Inspector – Fixed Term (3 months)

About the role

The Quality Inspector will ensure 100% compliance of finished rubber products on a continuous extrusion and coiling line. This fixed‑term position (3 months) involves visual and dimensional inspection of extruded profiles to guarantee product quality and traceability.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect 100% of extruded rubber profiles for surface defects, tears, blisters and porosity.
• Mark, segment and segregate defective material immediately to prevent incorrect packing.
• Monitor automated or manual coiling processes, ensuring correct tension, diameter and neatness.
• Measure outer diameter, inner diameter, wall thickness and length using callipers, micrometres and gauges.
• Compare live dimensions against engineering drawings and tolerance limits.
• Verify rubber cure state by assessing elasticity and hardness with a durometer (Shore A).
• Record inspection results, scrap rates and production metrics for each shift.
• Issue formal alerts when product trends fall outside allowable limits.

Required profile

• Matric certificate or equivalent technical diploma.
• 2–3 years of QC inspection experience in rubber manufacturing or plastics extrusion.
• Familiarity with rubber curing, extrusion lines and coiling machinery.
