Quality Control Manager – Foundry Expertise

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturing operation in Durban, is seeking a Quality Control Manager with strong experience in a foundry environment. The role will oversee all quality‑related functions, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct weekly process audits and lead continuous‑improvement meetings.
• Coordinate quality requirements with customers, machine shops and external service providers.
• Investigate and record customer complaints (NCRs) and manage corrective and preventive actions.
• Operate and maintain the existing Quality Management System (QMS) and organise internal audits.
• Manage documentation of internal and external scrap, implementing corrective actions with department heads.
• Prepare quality plans, maintain quality records and ensure resources for inspection and testing are available.
• Oversee incoming, in‑process and final inspections, and control non‑conforming materials.
• Report QMS performance to top management and drive continual improvement.
• Schedule calibration and renewal of measuring and test equipment.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in quality control or a related field.
• Proven experience in a foundry or similar manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
