QA/QC Line Inspector – Manufacturing Quality Assurance

About the role

The QA/QC Line Inspector will ensure consistent execution of quality inspection protocols across the fabrication process. Working on the shop floor, you will verify visual, dimensional and welding compliance to maintain product integrity before hand‑over or dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Perform first‑off, in‑process and final visual inspections according to drawings and QA check sheets.
• Verify material identification, traceability and compliance with approved certificates.
• Use measuring tools (tape, vernier, angle gauge, fillet‑weld gauge) to validate dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect welding activities for conformance with WPS, ISO 3834‑2 and relevant AWS standards.
• Monitor pre‑heat, inter‑pass temperatures and consumable control during welding.
• Cross‑check welder qualifications and WPS traceability on live jobs.
• Detect, record and report non‑conformances in real time and support corrective actions.

Required profile

• Matric with Maths & Science.
• SAIW Level 1 or Level 2 certification (advantageous).
• Exposure to ISO 9001 internal auditing or ISO 3834 (advantageous).
• Basic NDT Level 1 exposure (advantageous).
• Minimum 2 years experience in heavy‑fabrication QA/QC.
• Understanding of welding symbols, joint configurations and acceptance criteria.
