Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist will support the factory’s production plan by managing the end‑to‑end procurement process. You will ensure that materials are available on time, at the right quantity and cost, to keep the plant running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and release purchase orders according to the factory’s PSI plan, production schedule, supply allocation ratio and lead times.
• Track supplier production and inbound deliveries to guarantee stable, orderly factory output.
• Handle daily material kitting, exception management, balance‑stock clearance and one‑off procurement.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve material‑related abnormalities quickly.
• Monitor market price trends and supplier status, flag potential supply risks and drive mitigation solutions.
• Achieve KPI targets such as supply fulfillment rate, inventory control and slow‑moving stock management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Minimum 3 years of local procurement or supply‑chain experience in South Africa.
• Strong sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure and deliver tasks proactively.
• High personal integrity, excellent communication, logical thinking and negotiation abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
