Purchaser

About the role

The Purchaser will act as a brand ambassador for Würth South Africa, ensuring accurate and efficient procurement processes that support operations and strengthen supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase goods or components in line with cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Place purchase orders and follow up daily to ensure continuous supply.
• Maintain clear communication with suppliers, receiving, sales, clearing agencies, purchasing and finance departments.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and assess supplier performance.
• Ensure accurate goods receipt, invoice matching and timely hand‑over to finance.
• Resolve supplier queries within required timeframes and maintain service degree of 95.5%.

Required profile

• Post‑matric qualification in supply chain management, business administration or financial management.
• 2‑3 years of experience in direct purchasing and material requirements planning (MRP).
• Strong analytical, reporting and negotiation abilities.
• Organised, able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
