Pulmonologist – Private Practice Opportunity

About the role

Mediclinic Newcastle is seeking a qualified Pulmonologist to join its private practice team. You will work in a modern private hospital delivering high‑quality respiratory care as part of a multidisciplinary group of specialists and general practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic lung diseases.
• Perform pulmonary investigations such as spirometry, bronchoscopy and imaging interpretation.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
• Participate in on‑call duties and emergency respiratory care as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in pulmonology.
• Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• Proven experience in a private practice or hospital setting.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centred, high‑quality care.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in pulmonary medicine.
• Ability to interpret pulmonary function tests.
• Proficiency in performing bronchoscopy and related procedures.
• Management of both acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
