Provincial Manager – Insurance Operations

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for the full operational and commercial performance of a designated province within a short‑term insurance organisation. The Provincial Manager will translate national strategy into actionable plans, drive profitable growth, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute provincial business plans aligned with corporate strategy.
• Identify and pursue growth opportunities through new business acquisition, retention and cross‑selling.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging risks, adjusting plans as needed.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, insurers and industry partners.
• Achieve or exceed provincial revenue and profitability targets.
• Manage budgets, control costs and allocate resources efficiently.
• Track performance indicators and implement corrective actions.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing team of 6‑10 direct reports.
• Oversee client service delivery, complex negotiations and escalated matters.
• Ensure full compliance with FAIS, market conduct and internal policies, and maintain risk management frameworks.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Business, Commerce or a related field (essential).
• Proven track record in short‑term insurance with senior commercial responsibility.
• Strong business acumen, leadership maturity and regulatory discipline.
