Property Accountant – Retail Property Finance

About the role

This position offers a solid entry point into property finance, focusing on retail property accounting. You will work closely with landlords, operational teams, and internal finance colleagues to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts, including trial balances, income statements and balance sheets.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate posting of journals and daily transactions.
• Perform monthly bank, debtor, creditor and loan reconciliations and support variance analysis.
• Prepare VAT and other statutory returns, assist with cash‑flow monitoring and support audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or related finance degree.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in property or retail property environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with B‑Sharp accounting software (advantageous).
