Projects & Portfolio Manager – Property & Construction

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Projects & Portfolio Manager to oversee Hertex’s coastal properties and building projects. The role combines property portfolio administration, tenant management, and the delivery of construction and maintenance initiatives across our showroom network.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer the portfolio of all coastal Hertex properties.
• Source new tenants, manage existing tenant relationships, and negotiate lease terms.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate purchase of new buildings as approved by the board.
• Handle council submissions and obtain necessary approvals for property acquisitions and projects.
• Manage contractors: locate, evaluate, select and oversee them for each building project.
• Prepare budgets, appoint contractors, and produce all required project documentation.
• Oversee general upkeep and maintenance of coastal showrooms and surrounding areas.
• Provide monthly reports to Directors covering project progress, risks and performance.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in property management and maintenance within a corporate environment.
• Previous experience in Health & Safety.
• Hands‑on, proactive attitude with ability to perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Strong administrative abilities and high attention to detail.
• Experience dealing with council submissions and approvals.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, interacting directly with Directors and the CEO.
