Project Manager – Remote (South Africa)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join Cognisys’ Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team on a fully remote basis in South Africa. The role will own end‑to‑end delivery of GRC and cybersecurity projects, ensuring client satisfaction and high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple client projects throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocations.
• Manage client onboarding, scheduling, and coordination between internal teams and external auditors.
• Facilitate project kick‑off meetings, governance calls and regular status updates.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues and blockers, escalating when necessary.
• Monitor project health, scope, dependencies and change requests.
• Collaborate with GRC consultants to ensure technical activities align with the project plan.
• Continuously improve project workflows, documentation and delivery processes.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of project management experience, preferably in GRC, cybersecurity or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
