Project Manager – Large Scale Digitisation Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead national, large‑scale digitisation and scanning initiatives. The role involves overseeing end‑to‑end document scanning operations, ensuring quality, compliance and timely delivery across multiple sites in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and close high‑volume digitisation projects from initiation to delivery.
• Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans and budgets, monitoring scope, cost and timeline.
• Coordinate activities across multiple locations, vendors and technical teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies, providing corrective actions as needed.
• Produce regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Oversee scanning, indexing, validation and archival workflows, ensuring adherence to quality and records‑management standards.
• Manage project teams, scanning operators and external service providers.
• Implement quality‑assurance processes and ensure compliance with client specifications and legislation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale back‑scanning or digitisation projects.
• Strong understanding of document preparation, scanning workflows, indexing and records governance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑site teams and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
