Project Manager – Electrical Engineering Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead electrical and electronic engineering projects from the tender stage through to hand‑over. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage the full project lifecycle from tender to hand‑over.
• Develop and control project programmes, budgets and cash‑flow.
• Apply and administer FIDIC, GCC, JBCC and NEC contract frameworks, as well as MFMA and PFMA requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and safety regulations, including the OHS Act.
• Maintain project documentation, reporting and communication with all parties.
• Lead project meetings, provide progress updates and manage scope changes.
• Monitor project performance and take corrective actions to meet quality and engineering specifications.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or related field.
• SACPCMP registration (Pr. CPM and/or Pr.CM) or PMP certification (mandatory).
• Minimum 3 years experience managing projects in the electrical/electronic engineering sector.
• Strong financial and contract management acumen.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Required skills

• Knowledge of FIDIC, GCC, JBCC and NEC contracts.
• Understanding of MFMA and PFMA regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Project or similar project‑management software.
• Project budgeting, cash‑flow and risk‑assessment capabilities.
• Leadership, communication and negotiation abilities.
