Project Manager / Contracts Manager

About the role

We are looking for a senior Project Manager / Contracts Manager to lead multiple construction sites across Johannesburg. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on project scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage several construction projects, ensuring compliance with JBCC and other contractual frameworks.
• Oversee Site Agents and Site Managers, providing mentorship, performance monitoring, and guidance.
• Maintain accountability for budgets, schedules, quality standards, and project documentation.
• Develop and monitor project schedules using MS Projects and conduct regular site visits and progress reviews.
• Utilise CCS (Candy) and BuildSmart for cost control, subcontractor reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Manage variations, claims, and contractual correspondence, delivering defensible reports to clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in project or contracts management within the South African construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of JBCC contracts and extensive experience in warehousing building projects from ground‑up to handover.
• Proven ability to manage multiple sites and teams simultaneously.
