Project Manager – Community Programs (South Africa)

About the role

Carry1st is looking for a Project Manager to lead its community strategy in South Africa. You will own university‑focused programs, ambassador networks and local live‑operations for one of the world’s biggest mobile games, ensuring high engagement and a thriving player ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and project‑manage regional community programs, tournaments and engagement campaigns within South African universities.
• Recruit, onboard and coordinate a network of ambassadors across Discord, WhatsApp and other social platforms.
• Create and maintain playbooks, wikis and documentation that standardise community operations.
• Act as the liaison between Carry1st’s brand and the local gaming community, driving discussions, live‑ops and events.
• Track sentiment, performance and engagement metrics, producing weekly and monthly reports with actionable insights for product and marketing teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of post‑university experience, preferably with experience as a campus ambassador or student leader.
• Strong program‑management background with a proven ability to coordinate tasks, meet deadlines and keep projects on schedule.
• Excellent documentation habits and the ability to write clear, concise playbooks and reports.
• Passion for gaming and deep familiarity with Discord, Reddit and other online community spaces.
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage authentically with a diverse player base.
