Project Construction Manager (PCM)

About the role

The Project Construction Manager (PCM) will lead all site‑based activities for large multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects in Gauteng. Reporting to the Project Manager, the PCM translates the approved project baseline into controlled on‑site delivery, ensuring compliance with specifications, SHEQ and ISO standards, while meeting schedule and budget targets.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate construction execution across multiple work fronts.
• Manage cost control, quality assurance and SHEQ compliance on site.
• Plan and optimise resource utilisation, including labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Oversee construction logistics and site operations to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to statutory, contractual and legal requirements (OHS Act, Construction Regulations, environmental legislation).
• Maintain stakeholder communication and interface management.
• Utilise digital project management tools for planning, reporting and control.

Required profile

• Proven experience in large infrastructure construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction logistics, site operations and resource planning.
• Solid understanding of statutory, contractual and legal frameworks governing construction.
• Leadership ability to drive execution discipline and manage risks.
