About the role

Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg Day Clinic is recruiting one Professional Nurse Specialised for its theatre day clinic. The workplace is on-site and the position is permanent. The main purpose of the job is to deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential)
• Desired: Midwifery or a postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty area
• No minimum experience required; desired: 1 year of post-graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
• Applicants will be considered, with preference given in line with the Employment Equity Plan and to internal applicants who meet the minimum requirements
